According to the video game blog Kotaku, Entertainment Software Association president Doug Lowenstein is likely to be stepping down, perhaps as early as Tuesday.
Kotaku speculates that Lowenstein--who has headed up ESA, which puts on E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo--may be leaving the video game industry altogether.
In some ways, Lowenstein's departure, if it happens, makes sense. E3 is going to be deeply scaled back from the blow-out, ear-splitting mega-event it once was, and thus, the ESA may not need him as much.
Stay tuned for further details.
