Epiphany names new CEO

Business software maker Epiphany has appointed Karen Richardson as chief executive officer, to replace Roger Siboni. Siboni remains with the company as the chairman of its board. Richardson, 40, had been executive vice president, overseeing worldwide operations. As part of the management reshuffle, announced Thursday, Epiphany named Phil Fernandez to the posts of president and chief operating officer. Fernandez had been executive vice president of products and marketing.

The announcement came as Epiphany posted second-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street expectations. It reported revenue of $22.2 million and a net loss of 9 cents per share before certain charges, beating consensus estimates of $21.99 million in revenue and a loss of 11 cents per share. The San Mateo, Calif. company competes with Siebel Systems, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Onyx Software in the market for business systems designed to streamline corporate sales, marketing and customer service.
