EMC upgrades Celerra file server

Storage giant EMC has upgraded its Celerra File Server, a device that enables fast access to files and data stored over computer networks, with larger capacity and other improvements, the company said Thursday. The Celerra Data Mover 510 product lets 14 file servers be ganged together, providing a total of 52 terabytes of storage space that collectively can handle 224 direct network connections. In addition, Celerra supports several high-end software features at EMC, including replication of file systems in case of emergency and protection against network failure. The product also natively supports Windows 2000, has a software to ease configuration, and can have its data backed up without a performance drop.
