EDS signs $150 million in contracts

Electronic Data Systems said Thursday that it has closed three deals worth $150 million, bringing the total value of deals announced this week by the company to $400 million. EDS signed an agreement with Delphi Automotive Systems to improve its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which helps manufacturers organize their inventory, purchasing, customer service, supplier relationships and other business functions. Philips Semiconductors awarded EDS a six-year contract extension to provide technology-outsourcing services such as server, desktop, application and telecommunications support. SSP Solutions will also get help from EDS in managing a secure Internet network that processes sensitive information such as financial transactions. On Wednesay, EDS announced a $250 million, 10-year technology-outsourcing contract with Malaysia-based Bumiputra-Commerce Bank.
