Don't drive with a cell phone

Don't drive with a cell phone

NBC's Brian Williams always cracks me up. Outside of Fox News he has to be one of the most alarmist anchors on TV today. When teasing a report yesterday on a new study on the safety on driving with a cell phone Williams said "find out what could be putting your family in danger!" Okay Brian, I'm not a fan of driving with a cell phone by any means but you make it sound like we're talking about the next ebola virus here. I realize fear-mongering is rampant in the media these days but you could tone it down just a bit.

But regarding the study, the National Highway Safety Administration (NHSA) has concluded that driving while talking on a cell phone (among other things) makes you three times more likely to get in an accident. Wow NHSA, tell us something we don't know. I'm not sure that's tax dollars well spent as talking about dangerous behavior is one thing but changing it is quite another.
