If you've ever had to sit through wedding albums of your boyfriend's mom's brother, you know that pictures are often worth a thousand words, but you don't need to see 10,000 of them.
However, digital flipbooks by FlipClips may make those photo albums more bearable--and certainly more enjoyable. The individually crafted books are created from 10-, 15- or 30-second video clips, uploaded directly onto the Web site. The time requirements are based on whether you'd like a greeting card, flipbook or storybook, which cost $10.99, $8.99 and $18.99, respectively. You can also choose your own customized cover art in patterns such as polka dots, plaid, stripes and more. The site offers reduced pricing if you order the books in bulk, for weddings or party favors.
The idea is pretty cool, but it's not like you're going to be absolved from looking at hundreds of pictures. After all, the book really is a series of images, just more lifelike. I guess you would be better off looking at the actual video, but then again, who wants to watch two hours of a happy couple you don't even know? Plus, I love the polka dots.
