Digg goes deep and wide

Digg unveiled a new look Monday, generating 1,409 diggs within a short span of 40 minutes. The announcement of Digg's new features drew over a hundred comments in fairly short order, with an overriding sentiment that the new look was favorable.

Digg added a "Top 10" feature to its news and videos, as well as relocating its navigation bar to the top of the site. The navigation bar also has been expanded to give videos its own tab.

The site also features podcast series and individual episodes, which allow users to tap into the most popular podcasts by sections, as well as review which ones were dugg the most. This area of the site, however, is in beta and requires registration.

With the new look, Digg has also developed a flexible layout that can stretch depending on the width of the monitor. Think deep and wide.
