CSC names partner to boost Web services

The IT services giant names former State Street information chief as a partner to help craft the firm's charge into Web-based services.

Computer Sciences Corporation has hired former State Street Corporation information chief James MacDonald to lead the firm's charge to provide more Web-based services to financial institutions.

MacDonald, who joins CSC as a partner, has more than 20 years of experience in software and network development, the company said.

As CIO of State Street, MacDonald was responsible for corporate technology strategy and planning, global architecture, and software and network development.

At CSC, MacDonald will oversee development of Web-based services for financial clients, which include more than 1,000 banks, insurers, investment firms, consumer finance companies, and financial services organizations.

The El Segundo, California-based company said it serves 70 percent of the top 50 U.S. banks and insurers.
