Creative's I-Trigue speakers give you sharper tunes

Creative's I-Trigue 3000i iPod speaker system has hit the shelves, bringing a skinny subwoofer and vintage-looking remote to the mix.

Keep your fingers away from the giant pencil sharpener.

Time to rock out with your dock out: Creative's I-Trigue 3000i iPod speaker system has hit the shelves, bringing a skinny subwoofer and vintage-looking remote to the mix.

The 2.1 speaker set-up comes equipped with an iPod dock, two satellite speakers, and a subwoofer that looks like a giant novelty pencil sharpener. Added to this grab bag of goodness is a remote control that would not look out of place in an MC Hammer clip or Bill and Ted movie. Yes, it's blocky and early 90s, but the jury is out on whether enough time has elapsed for such aesthetics to be considered "vintage" rather than "fugly".

Specs-wise, the speakers are chock full of neotitanium microdrivers, while the subwoofer packs a 3.5-inch (8.9cm) driver into its slimline casing. The 3000i is compatible with any dock-connector iPod, and the docking station is studded with AV Out, Aux In and USB sockets. That means you can watch iPod video content on your TV and plug in tune-laden USB keys.

The I-Trigue 3000i is available now for a not-entirely-outrageous sum of AU$169.
