Covad brings T1 service to new cities

High-speed Internet service provider Covad Communications has added 10 markets to its broadband service, including Baltimore, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego and Washington D.C. The TeleXtend service provides T1 access to small business starting at $449 per month. The service was launched last year, before Santa Clara-based Covad reorganized and emerged from bankruptcy. T1 service allows customers to get high-speed access over longer distances than competing technologies such as digital subscriber lines.
