Conley releases RAID

Conley releases its new high-availability RAID systems, featuring Fibre Channel connectivity for high-speed shared access among multiple host computers.

Conley announced today the release of its new high-availability RAID systems, featuring Fibre Channel connectivity for high-speed shared access among multiple host computers.

Conley says the new SR-50 storage subsystem has dual active controllers with up to 256MB of mirrored data cache and auto-failover of host data paths. Multiple Ultra-SCSI channels, which carry data at 40MB/sec are standard, but the optional Fibre Channel interface can carry 100MB/sec over distances ranging up to 10 kilometers. All components are hot-swappable.

Each SR-50 subsystem supports up to 30 disks for a total 260GB of storage capacity and can connect to up to seven hosts. Up to 100 hosts can connect to multiple SR-50s for multiterabyte storage capacity.

Conley says that a variety of platforms are supported, including Windows NT and Unix systems.

An all options-added SR-50 with Fibre Channel interface and 250GB of storage will be priced at around $200,000. An entry-level model with 20GB storage, Ultra-Wide SCSI interface, and 8MB cache on each controller will be priced at under $35,000, according to the company.
