Compaq releases flat-panel monitors

Compaq Computer has released two new 15-inch flat-panel monitors for home and business use. The $499 TFT5015 monitor, which is meant for homes and small businesses, has 0.3mm pitch--the distance between pixels. It also offers XGA, which allows for high resolution, and a 120-degree horizontal viewing angle. The $639 TFT5030 monitor, meant for financial, health care and business use, offers 0.3mm pitch, XGA resolution and 170-degree viewing angles. According to Compaq, Sharp Microelectronics' built-in Advanced Super View technology ensures no pixel defects in the TFT5030.
