Combo lets DVDs rip and burn at home

Connectivity product maker SCM Microsystems announced on Wednesday the release of Dazzle DVD Creation Station 200, a combination hardware-and-software product that helps people to record and play digital video on home DVD players. The DCS 200 comes with a card reader that allows users to take video from any camcorder, VCR or TV and then download, edit and burn it to DVD discs. It can read video from a range of memory cards, including CompactFlash, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard and Memory Stick. The accompanying software allows consumers to edit the video. Fremont, Calif.-based SCM Microsystems lists the product at $230.
