It's been a tough week for tech: Samsung and Apple battle in court and BlackBerry is blamed as rioters battle in the streets.

It's been a tough week for tech: Samsung and Apple battle in court and BlackBerry is blamed as rioters battle in the streets.

It's been a week of gadgets flying off shop shelves -- often literally. Apple has managed to force the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 off sale after a mere week here in the UK. Another thing you won't be able to buy here is the Nokia N9, which officially isn't coming to our green and pleasant land. And the iPad has taken to the skies in China thanks to an intricate system of pulleys.

Meanwhile the most popular story of the week was our look at an impressively elaborate fake website for the iPhone 5. It seems you guys just can't get enough of the future iPhone!

In the Crave section, our intrepid tech trio picks three highlights from the great gadgets featured on CNET UK this week. Rich hits the road with a wacky 25-seater motorbike, Luke gets his online gaming on with OnLive game streaming, and Andy takes on the Tegra-powered Samsung Galaxy R. Which will our all-seeing adjudicator Judgement Damian select as the pick of the week's gadgets?

Technology on trial

There were horrific scenes in London, Manchester and Birmingham this week, as riots and looting set the high streets ablaze. The violence has been blamed on everything from poverty to a liberal conspiracy to Facebook and Twitter, and the number one scapegoat BlackBerry Messenger.

They're insanely popular with the kids, but does that mean authorities should have the power to switch off social networks when trouble looms? We put on our serious music to debate the role of technology in the week's rioting and look for positive uses of social networking. We hope none of you were too badly affected by the trouble -- stay safe out there in listenerland.

Speaking of Facebook, we answer your questions posed at our Facebook page -- and Andy shares his secret truffle recipe. Don't forget to Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, and keep the feedback, questions, humorous Photoshops and general tech-related tomfoolery coming.

And don't miss your chance to win an LG Optimus 3D smart phone worth over £400!
