Matches are won by getting in the box, but for FIFA 17 it's all about getting on the box.

Game developer EA wants fans to vote for which soccer star will take over from Lionel Messi as the face of football-'em-up FIFA. In the running for FIFA 17's cover art are Eden Hazard of Chelsea and Belgium, James Rodriguez of Real Madrid and Colombia, Anthony Martial of Manchester United and France, or Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund and Germany.

Cast your vote on the FIFA Cover Vote website before 19 July to have your say. You can also earn extra votes and game add-ons by talking up the game on social media.

The cover of recent editions of the yearly game has been graced by the visage of Barcelona star Lionel Messi. However, the Argentina star recently announced his retirement from international football and was today given a 21-month suspended sentence in Spain for tax fraud.

FIFA 17 hits the pitch on 29 September for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. For more gaming news, reviews and general excitement, check out our sister site GameSpot.com.
