I think customers don't really care about whether their information technology solution is an integrated offering or a service solution. That kind of thinking is so late '90s. They don't want to think about it at all. Information technology is not the customer's core competency.
IT consulting is being absorbed into the business process outsourcing industry. The answer to "Microsoft versus IBM" may lie in India and China. Moreover, the winner may be a foreign company we've never even heard of before.
