Axcelerant gets $5 million from Riordan firm

The investment firm of Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan--Riordan, Lewis & Haden--invested more than $5 million into Axcelerant, a secure broadband networks management company for large corporations. The investment is part of a $10 million first round of financing that the Irvine, Calif.-based Axcelerant hopes to close in the next 90 days. Founder and Chairman Robert Heintz previously was president of International Helfrich, where he established several networking and telecommunications businesses.
