Avid Technology on Thursday said broadcaster NBC will use its digital editing systems throughout its newsrooms and in its Telemundo Spanish-language subsidiary.
NBC said it will use Avid's iNews technology, a service that links broadcast newsrooms with e-mail, collaboration and script-editing tools. The service features a 32-bit architecture and a Windows-based operating system interface, and can be scaled for larger newsrooms. Avid is trying to combine iNews with its nonlinear video-editing systems and into one packaged product for media companies. Some of Avid's customers include Sinclair Broadcast Group, Baltimore; The Golf Channel, Orlando. Fla.; KVVU, Las Vegas; KAKE, Wichita, Kan.; WNJU, New York/New Jersey; and KSL, Salt Lake City.
