AT&T to use Motive's software

AT&T Broadband, the cable unit of Ma Bell, plans to use customer service software from Motive Communications for its cable Internet service. AT&T will be the first company to use Motive Olympus, a package of diagnostic software that automatically connects a customer to technical support personnel electronically by implementing it on the AT&T@Home high-speed Net access service, according to Motive. AT&T@Home has more than 1 million customers but has faced some network troubles in recent years. In addition, the company is attempting to counter the cable industry's reputation for poor customer service.
