Apple gave its fans a peek at the next Mac Pro desktop computer at WWDC in San Francisco.
The new desktop computer is built for Apple's "most advanced users," according to Apple executive Phil Schiller. It is the fastest and most expandable device.
"Like with the MacBook Air, our engineering team has thought about the technology today and what would be possible with a new Mac desktop," Schiller said.
This is "the future of the pro desktop," he added. Schiller also taunted the company's competitors: "Can't innovate anymore, my ass," he added.
Schiller said that the processor, GPU, and storage are all built around a new thermal core. On the inside there will be Intel Xeon chips, which can fit up to 12 cores in there. Schiller said that the new desktop offers two times the performance compared to the existing version. It's also using PCIe flash storage. He said it's 10 times the speed of any notebook hard drive. And it will sport a 4K display out of the box for ultimate screen resolution.
Schiller didn't offer any details on when the new Mac Pro will be available or how much it will cost.
