Apple has released one of its new MacBooks in black, just to make sure it doesn't clash with any black iPods out there.

Apple has finally upgraded its entire laptop line-up to the spiffy new Intel Core Duo processor, announcing overnight the release of three new Macbook models.

The new Macbooks replace the old iBooks and 12-inch PowerBook. All three Macbooks feature 13-inch screens, with the base model having a 1.83GHz processor compared to the 2.0GHz processor powering the other two. Mac white is still the colour scheme of choice, but in an iPod-like touch Apple has released the premium MacBook in a shiny black case.

And while the specs are impressive, they're certainly not cheap for laptops in this range. Still, for Apple products they do fall under the "budget" category, with prices ranging between AU$1749 and AU$2349.
