It's easy to add lightsaber and Kylo Ren emoji to 'Star Wars' tweets

You no longer need a high Midi-chlorian count to wield a lightsaber! Just include the hashtags #lightsaber, #StarWars and #TheForceAwakens to use the Force online. Don't forget to tweet characters #KyloRen and #Phasma emojis too.

Emoji make every tweet better. How else would we be able to describe a happy poo pile or list all the drinks we've consumed at the last party if it weren't for those adorable tiny pictures of everything from animals and food to alien faces and dancing ladies?

Now we can add the controversial new lightsaber, Kylo Ren and Phasma emojis to the growing list of "Star Wars" emoji that include C-3PO, stormtrooper and the new rolling droid BB8 from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

In April, we learned that in addition to the three , Twitter users will be treated to a mix of new characters from "The Force Awakens" as well as several legacy characters from past "Star Wars" movies.

"On Friday, July 10, your favorite intergalactic saga will be featured on three new custom Twitter emojis," said the Twitter blog. "Starting at 9:30 a.m. PT, the special series of reveals will occur one by one throughout the day, concluding at 5:30 p.m. PT during a "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Hall H panel featuring Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan and other special guests."

The cross-guard lightsaber, the new mysterious character Kylo Ren and Gwendoline Christie's new Phasma character are only three of the new "Star Wars" emoji headed our way.

Fingers crossed for a Chewbacca emoji! That guy really knows how to express himself.
