Prevent your blow dryer from overheating with this quick tip

You can prevent your dryer from overheating and make it last longer in seconds with a tool you probably already have in your bathroom.

how to clean a blow dryer

Just a few wipes from a makeup sponge can clean up your blow dryer.

Every now and then your blow dryer needs a little maintenance. Hair and lint can build up over the grate on the back of the dryer and block air flow. A clogged dryer can overheat and have a shorter lifespan.

Many things, like a tissue or a cotton swab, can leave lint behind while cleaning the grate -- and paper towels just don't grab the lint. In fact, the best tool you can use to wipe out the grate is a clean makeup sponge. Simply place the sponge on the grate and wipe in a circular motion and the lint and hair will come right off.
