Watch this: Crawl: a competitive arcade dungeon-brawler on show at PAX Aus 2014.

PAX Australia 2014 ran from October 31 to November 2 in Melbourne and, much like the previous year's inaugural show, there was an incredible array of indie games to play.

This week we'll be showcasing some of the independently developed games that caught our eye.

First up is Crawl, an 8-bit style dungeon beat 'em up with local multiplayer. The twist: one person plays the hero, up to three others play the monsters hellbent on killing him. If you beat the hero, you take his place and the game keeps going. It's fast and frenetic, and we spoke to Dave from Powerhoof, the dev team responsible for Crawl.

The game is out now for Early Access on Steam for the princely sum of $9.99 or £6.99.
