RDI rolls out the first portable workstation based on Hewlett-Packard's RISC chip architecture.
The workstation, which weigh 7.5 pounds, is based on Hewlett-Packard's proprietary PA-RISC processor architecture. The PrecisionBooks feature either a 160-MHz or 132-MHz PA 7300LC processor, a 14.1-inch active-matrix screen, 12GB of storage, and 512MB of memory.
The portable workstations are designed for high-end applications including engineering, software development, network management, financial modeling, military command operations, and intelligence gathering.
PrecisionBooks, designed to deliver the performance of HP's Visualize B-Class workstation, have a suggested retail price of $11,995.
