Software maker has agreed to jointly develop and sell e-commerce products with Global Exchange Services (GXS), the companies said Monday.

Under the agreement, GXS, a General Electric spin-off, will incorporate WebMethods' software interoperability tools as part its own e-commerce "Trading Grid," which allows 30,000 businesses to send invoices and other documents to each other over computer networks. In addition, WebMethods plans to recommend and resell GXS services to its 1,200 customers. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.
