Wireless e-mail company Visto has been awarded $7.7 million in damages and an injunction on the sale of products by Seven Networks after winning aearlier this year. The damages and injunction will be stayed pending the appeals process, Visto said in a press release Wednesday.
The case involved patents held by Visto for wireless e-mail transmission, which was also the issue at hand in the long-runningcase. Visto has also sued RIM, Good Technology and Microsoft, contending those companies are also infringing on its patents. Visto and NTP have signed a cross-licensing deal to each other's patent portfolio.
