Uber delivers people, but also food, packages and occasionally kittens.
Tomorrow, it's going a step further. Uber will send a free flu shot for you and up to four other people at your location. It'll even come with a registered nurse to handle the injection and the paperwork, according to an Uber blog post.
The catch: you'll need to live in one of these following cities and states in the US:
- Albany, NY
- Baltimore, MD
- Boston, MA
- Birmingham, AL
- Chicago, IL
- Columbus, OH
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Houston, TX
- Jacksonville, FL
- Philadelphia, PA
- New Hampshire
- Portland, ME
- Rhode Island
- Syracuse, NY
- Tallahassee, FL
- Washington, DC
If so, just log into the Uber app between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. local time on Tuesday, October 25, and choose the Health option. "We want you to know that demand will be high-so we really appreciate your patience," Uber warns.
This is actually the second time Uber's offered a one-day-only flu shot, but it is the first time it's totally free. Last November, the company offered something similar in 35 US cities, but charged $10 to vaccinate up to 10 people. This time, you get five shots for free.
