Two more execs leave Cabletron

The fallout from the abrupt resignation of Cabletron Systems' recently hired CEO takes hold, as two other senior executives leave the company.

The fallout from the abrupt resignation of networking equipment provider Cabletron Systems' (CS) recently hired CEO earlier this week is taking hold as two other prominent executives leave the company, reportedly to pursue other interests.

Stephan Gray, Cabletron's senior vice president of corporate marketing, and Mark Truhlar, chief information officer and senior director of network management software, have both tendered their resignations, a spokeswoman confirmed.

The Rochester, New Hampshire-based company announced earlier this week that president and CEO Don Reed had resigned after less than eight months on the job and would be replaced by chairman Craig Benson. The move raised questions about the state of the company, given the short period Reed was given to turn around the struggling company.

The Cabletron spokeswoman would not elaborate on the departures of the executives. "Unfortunately," she said, "it leaves it up to speculation."
