Telstra tweaks bundles with increased Foxtel focus

Telstra has announced the launch of new phone, broadband, and entertainment bundles, tweaking its offering with increased data limits and the addition of the Foxtel Go app to some bundles.

The packages are now bundled under two groups. Home Bundles replace the legacy Communications Bundles and include home phone and broadband. Entertainer Bundles -- which include home phone, broadband and entertainment -- take the form of the Entertainer Super package with 11 Foxtel channels on Telstra's T-Box, or a new Entertainer Supreme "platinum" package with Foxtel from Telstra, featuring more than 90 channels.

According to a Telstra spokesperson, the telco has "refreshed" its bundles with a rename and by "adding more inclusions", including lowering the call cap on standard Australian mobile calls from $3 to $2. Customers who don't have a T-Box will also get the set top box for free.

Both the Home and Entertainer Bundles come in four sizes: S (10GB Broadband), M (100GB), L (200GB) and XL (500GB). The S bundle (formerly 'Telstra Essential') has also has its data limit upped from 5GB to 10GB.

Also meeting the needs of content-hungry customers, Telstra has included the Foxtel Go app in its Entertainer Bundles, meaning users can watch content on their tablet, smartphone or desktop.

"These new bundles will give our customers the ability to create more TV screens in the home with the addition of Foxtel Go across selected entertainer bundles range while retaining the high quality services they love in home phone and broadband," the spokesperson said.

Telstra is promoting the new bundles by offering a $200 JB Hi-Fi voucher to customers who sign up for its Entertainer Supreme Bundle by June 30 2014. Full details on the promotion, and all the new bundles, can be found on Telstra's Bundles website.
