Storage networking firm names new CEO

McData, which makes high-end switches for sending storage data over special-purpose networks, has named John Kelley to chief executive, the company said Tuesday. He'll take over the reins from Jack McDonnell, a co-founder who will remain chairman. Kelley will become CEO at the end of McData's shareholder meeting on Aug. 1 at the company's headquarters in Broomfield, Colo. Kelley joined McData as president and chief operating officer in August 2001 after leading Qwest Communications International.
