Sprint, BroadVision in ASP tie-up

Phone giant Sprint and software maker BroadVision have entered an agreement to offer BroadVision?s core software. As part of the agreement, Sprint said it will host versions of BroadVision?s entire suite of software that manages e-commerce transactions and allows companies to buy and sell goods and services over the Web. Sprint will provide Web-hosting support and services, data center facilities, and systems monitoring and reporting. Both companies intend to jointly market the offering to bolster sales of Sprint?s application hosting services and BroadVision?s business-to-business applications. Sprint said it also plans to work with BroadVision?s system integration partners as part of the agreement. Last fall, BroadVision inked a similar deal with ASP (application service provider) Corio. Corio is selling BroadVision's MarketMaker product in a typical ASP model, through which companies will be charged on a per-user, per-month basis to access the software.
