Short Take: Two new modules from Cabletron

Cabletron Systems announced two new 10/100-mbps auto-sensing modules for the company's popular switching hardware and a rebranding program that recasts the MMAC-Plus chassis system as part of the SmartSwitch family. The 26-port MMAC-Plus will more than double the density of its 10/100-Mbps module, costs $16,995, and is available immediately. A new module for the company's 6000 switch, available by year's end, doubles capacity to 16 ports and costs $8,995.
