Short Take: Sun names VP of business affairs

Sun Microsystems has appointed Daniel Mitz vice president of business affairs, where he will oversee acquisitions and other "strategic transactions" at the Palo Alto computer seller. Mitz formerly handled mergers and acquisitions as a partner at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He will report to Jonathan Schwartz, senior vice president of corporate strategy and planning. Mitz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from New York University School of Law.
