Red Hat has named Kevin Thompson vice president of operations, the company said. Thompson formerly was a partner in PricewatherhouseCoopers' global technology industry group, where he ran stock offerings and oversaw mergers and acquisitions. Red Hat still is seeking a new chief executive to replace Hal Covert, who left to become SGI's CFO.
