Short Take: Real Networks' revenues climb

Real Networks said revenues climbed 80 percent in its fourth quarter to reach $10.3 million. That compares with revenues of $5.7 million in the same period last year. The company's net loss widened, however, to $2.6 million, or 6 cents per share, versus $1.5 million one year ago. For 1997, revenues reached of $32.7 million, up 134 percent from $14 million one year ago. The net loss for the year reached $11.2 million, or 40 cents per share, compared with a loss of $3.8 million last year.
