Short Take: PeopleSoft, IBM forge alliance

PeopleSoft and IBM have agreed to a deal that will integrate PeopleSoft's customer relationship management (CRM) software--which helps automate a company's sales force, marketing efforts and customer services--with a line of Big Blue's servers and database software. Under terms of the deal, IBM's S/390 servers, along with its DB2 database software, will combine forces with PeopleSoft's Vantive CRM software to offer customers of both a complete package of hardware, software and services.
