Short Take: Nexabit, Hitachi team on networking gear
Terabit networking start-up Nexabit Networks announced that its equipment, intended for the core of the largest data networks, can interoperate with fiber bandwidth technology from the Hitachi Telecom division of Hitachi. Hitachi's dense wave division multiplexing technology, or DWDM, lets more fiber connections be made across a strand. Nexabit demonstrated the technology interoperation in conjunction with the announcement of a SONET-based OC-192 module for its NX64000 switch router.
