Short Take: New AMD program assists motheboard makers

Advanced Micro Devices today announced a new program to help computer makers and dealers identify motherboards that are fully compatible with AMD's Athlon and Duron processors. Under the AMD Assured program, motherboard makers can submit their products to AMD for a series of tests. AMD then lists the products that comply with the company's standards. The program ideally will boost sales, as many of AMD's customers are smaller manufacturers and computer dealers that often don't have internal testing resources.
