Short Take: Network Appliance earnings up

Storage hardware maker Network Appliance yesterday announced fourth fiscal quarter net income of $10.7 million, or 13 cents per share, on revenue of $90.8 million. That's a 70 percent increase from the same quarter last year, when NetApp had $6.3 million of income and earnings of 9 cents per share, the company said. From fiscal 1998 to fiscal 1999, the company's net income increased 70 percent from $21 million to $35.6 million. The company provides special-purpose high-speed file servers intended to ease corporate data storage headaches.
