Short Take: MS ships SNA Server beta
Microsoft has released the final beta of SNA Server 4.0, an add-on to Windows NT Server that allows the operating system to communicate with IBM mainframe environments. Included in the beta is a technology code-named Cedar that offers transaction integration between the two systems, and another dubbed Thor that allows databases to connect to each other. SNA Server is also sold as part of the BackOffice suite of applications.
