Microsoft is shipping a test version of its latest parser for Exten sible Markup Language (XML). A parser dissects and reads XML text within an application, much like a Web browser reads HTML to generate Web pages. The new parser now allows Visual Basic developers to use the second version of Simple API for XML (SAX2). SAX is an application programming interface that lets software interpret XML files without needing to load them entirely into memory. The parser is downloadable from Microsoft's Web site. The final version will ship this fall.
