Microsoft has announced the promotion of Pieter Knook, most recently general manager for customer systems, to vice president, Far East. Knook, who joined Microsoft in 1990, will manage the software giant's Far East operations--including marketing, sales and support, consulting, and research and development--from Tokyo. Microsoft subsidiaries in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and China, including Hong Kong, will report directly to Knook.
