Short Take: Microsoft brings Tetris creator to games group

Microsoft announced Alexey Pajitnov, creator of Tetris, to its games group to develop a series of mind-teaser and puzzle games. Microsoft also announced alliances with three game companies. Microsoft will work with Monolith Productions to develop an action game code-named MetalTek; Rebellion Developments of Oxford, England, to produce real-time games; and Strategic Studies Group to develop a Windows 95-based version of Strategic's Reach for the Stars game using DirectX technology.
