Short Take: ISO approves VRML update
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has approved the next generation of the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) as an international standard for three-dimensional Web design. VRML 2.0 was first submitted to the ISO in June 1996. The approval should codify VRML 2.0 as an industry standard and speed the growth of 3D Web development, proponents said.
