Intel has decided that the official
name of the upcoming P6 processor will be the Pentium II processor. The
chip was formerly known by its code name, Klamath. Intel says that this
processor, like the Pentium Pro, will be aimed at business users. The
Pentium processor, by contrast, is being sold primarily to the consumer
market. The Pentium II is expected to run at 233 and 266 MHz when it hits
the market, probably in the second quarter.
