Short Take: IBM to expand manufacturing

IBM has announced an additional $440 million investment for disk drive and component manufacturing expansion in Asia, Europe, and North America, bringing the company's investment in its storage business to $1.32 billion this year. IBM's Storage Systems Division has facilities in Germany, Hungary, Singapore, Japan, China, Mexico, the United States, and, with today's announcement, Thailand. A portion of the latest investment is designated for a new disk drive manufacturing facility in Prachinburi, about 90 miles from the Thai capital, Bangkok.
