Short Take: IBM releases JDK for OS/2

IBM announced the availability of an open beta of the Java Developers Kit 1.1 for OS/2 Warp 4.0 and OS/2 Warp Server and the release of remote access services for the platform. The JDK 1.1 release is available at the company's Web site. General availability is planned for the third quarter of this year. The enhanced Remote Access Server for OS/2 Warp Server allows remote PPP (point-to-point protocol) clients to access an IBM server as if it were local.
