Hewlett-Packard announced a leasing program for its color laser printers. Targeting small and medium-sized businesses, HP is offering its Color LaserJet 5 printer for $99 per month for 36 months. Capable of the equivalent of 1200 dots per inch, the printer outputs 10 pages per minute in black and white, or 2-3 pages in color. For $139/month, the network-oriented LaserJet 5M adds more memory and an onboard print server. At the end of the lease, the printers are returned to HP.
