Short Take: GEIS completes acquisition

GE Information Services, a major electronic data interchange (EDI) provider, has completed its acquisition of Express Systems of Minneapolis. ESI markets software for advanced shipping notification (ASN) to scan bar codes on packages before they are shipped, speeding supply chain management. GEIS has marketed ASN Plus to its retail and manufacturing customers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
